Free Gratitude Class, taught by Lisa

Please join us on Saturday, January 6, 1:00-2:30 pm, when Lisa will teach a free gratitude class for all levels. This event is in honor of our teacher, B.K.S. Iyengar's birthday, and in appreciation of our students who have been loyal to us for 18 years. Open to all Yoga Center students, past, present, and future! Sign up now.

Free Intro Classes

  • Diane will teach two free Intro classes on January 7 at 3pm, and January 9 at 4pm. Plan to come early to set up your spot.
  • You will need to sign a waiver if you have not enrolled in a Yoga Center class before.

YoMo Starts January 1

YoMo stands for Yoga Practice Month (simpler than YoPraMo, right?). The idea is simple. You commit to practicing some yoga every day during the month of January. You can practice at home, in your yoga classes, or with friends. This is a commitment to yourself—the Yoga Center and your fellow YoMo participants are there to help you. Sign up online or at the Yoga Center desk to receive emails through the month of January encouraging you in your home practice. Get practice ideas, resources, and inspiration to help you along.

Open Practice Times to Coincide with YoMo!

Oh boy, this is something new and cool. Every Thursday in January, from 6:00-7:30, the studio will be available for Open Practice. The cost is $6 per time during the month of January. Those of you doing YoMo may find this particularly helpful.

How it works

  • This is not a class! You may arrive or leave at any time during the open period.
  • Come prepared to work on your own practice. Don't know what to do? We have plenty of books and other resources available.
  • The teacher will be working on his/her own practice and will be available to answer questions or offer suggestions.
  • If you need help deciding on that day's practice, we suggest that you arrive at the beginning of the session.
  • You must be concurrently taking another YCL class.

More Open Practice

After January, we hope to have ongoing Open Practice times. We'll post the times monthly, as they may be flexible, depending on availability of teachers.. The cost will be $8 per practice, or $6 per practice if you purchase a ten-practice pass for $60.

The Perfect Gift

Searching for a unique gift to inspire and uplift? Consider giving the gift of yoga. Gift cards are available in any amount, either online or at the studio.

This is a great yoga studio! I’ve taken classes with three teachers at the Yoga Center, and they are all top-notch: patient, well-trained teachers and highly knowledgeable.

This is an Iyengar yoga studio, so the focus is on learning to do yoga poses correctly to get the maximum therapeutic benefit and avoid injury. You will get a depth of understanding that will help you be a better yogi, regardless of what kind of yoga you practice later on, or where, for the rest of your life.

It doesn’t matter if you can’t get your knees to go down very far, or you can’t straighten your leg, or you have sciatica or a slipped disk or knee problems...whatever...there is a way for every student to get the maximum benefit from every pose, and the teachers at this yoga studio will help you get there so you are successful.
