Makeups—Yoga classes may be made up at any time during the same session. Go to any open class that is the appropriate level and length and tell the teacher your name and the teacher, day, time, and date of the class you are making up. You may make up in advance of an anticipated absence. Classes may not be made up in intersession classes. No carry-overs.
Students are welcome to repeat any class level except Introduction to Yoga, which may be repeated with consent of instructor. Students should repeat each level (except Intro), sometimes several times, before moving up.
Introduction to Yoga—Required before taking a Level I class, unless the student has had previous Iyengar instruction. This class for students new to yoga or to the Iyengar method introduces the basic poses, principles of alignment and posture, yoga philosophy, relaxation, and breathing techniques. No drop-ins or late enrollments, please. (1 1/2 hours)
Ageless Yoga is offered for students over 50 years of age. If you have hesitated to try yoga due to stiffness or have felt out of place in other classes, this one is for you. These appropriately-paced classes are suited for both beginning and continuing students. (1 1/4 hours)
Adult/Child Yoga—For children ages 6-9. Introduce a child to the art of yoga in this partner yoga class. Asanas are introduced with relevant stories to educate and motivate children to build excellent character and to improve physical and mental well being. This class promotes strength and flexibility, good coordination and posture. In our stressful and noisy lives, it teaches children how to relax and concentrate and how to be quiet and still. Fee includes both adult and child. Drop-ins welcome. (1 hour)
Prenatal Yoga is designed for women in all stages of pregnancy. The class will include postures that create strength, stamina, ease, and relaxation throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Suitable for both beginning and continuing students. (1 1/2 hours)
Level I Yoga—For students who have completed Introduction to Yoga or equivalent instruction in the Iyengar method. (1 1/2 hours)
Level II Yoga—For continuing students who have completed two (or more) sessions at Level I. (1 1/2 hours)
Level III Yoga—For continuing students who do inversions at the wall. (1 1/2 hours)
See the schedule above for specific class fees.
Beginning with the Spring Session 2008, the Yoga Center has increased the fees for session and drop-in classes. This is the first price increase since January of 2004. We must do so at this time to keep up with increased costs of operation. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
10% discount on each yoga class tuition if one individual student enrolls in two or more yoga classes per week.
PayPal may be used to preregister. A 3.3% handling charge is added, and the 10% discount for multiple classes is not available.
Drop-ins are allowed on a space-available basis. Cost for regular classes is $15 per class, or $14 per class if you are enrolled in another yoga class.
Refunds are given through the second week of classes less each class meeting that occurred prior to the refund request, less a $6 cancellation fee.
Credits will not be given after the start date of a class and will be given ONLY if the class is cancelled or rescheduled.
Scholarships—The Yoga Center offers a limited number of scholarships for yoga classes.
Arrangements may be made for incremental payment of yoga class fees.
