Location and Lodging
The Yoga Center of Lawrence is located at 920 Massachusetts Street, Suite 4 (above Milton’s Restaurant) in historic downtown Lawrence (map). Enter either from Massachusetts Street or from the alley off New Hampshire. There is metered parking on Massachusetts or free two-hour parking in the parking garage on New Hampshire between 9th and 10th Streets.
Lawrence is conveniently located on Interstate 70, about 40 miles west of Kansas City and 20 miles east of Topeka. (Area map including route from Kansas City International Airport to Lawrence.)
Kansas City International Airport (MCI), just 60 minutes northeast, is served by most major airlines. Rent a car at the airport or reserve a ride with an airport shuttle service: Kansas Transportation Service, 877.942.0544, Midwest Airport Shuttle, 888.467.3729.
Within walking distance are many good restaurants and several places to stay (map): Marriott Springhill Suites, the Eldridge Hotel, and Halcyon House Bed and Breakfast. Other motels are all within a five- to fifteen-minute drive to the Yoga Center. A natural foods grocery, the Community Mercantile, is located at Ninth and Iowa Streets just one-and-a-half miles from the Yoga Center, and there are several motels near the store.
